WHAT MOVES YOU?
You’ve tried exercise, and your walking aids are no longer enough. If pain in your hips, knees, shoulders or ankles is limiting your daily activities, joint replacement may be for you.
The staff of the Carondelet Joint Replacement Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital can help restore your mobility and quickly get you back to your daily routine.
At the Center, we follow a standardized approach to joint replacement based upon the combined knowledge and expertise of our surgeons, physical and occupational therapists, nurses, case managers—and you!
Yes, you are an integral part of your recovery team. From your initial visit, and throughout your physical recovery, you can expect to receive plenty of information and “next steps” from your joint replacement team.
WHAT WE OFFER
The Carondelet Joint Replacement Center is located on the fourth floor of St. Joseph’s Hospital and features 20 private patient rooms with en suite bathrooms.
Our nurses and support staff are specially trained in the caring of orthopedic patients, and we are the only hospital in Southern Arizona to offer inpatient pool therapy. In certain cases, you may begin physical therapy on the same day as your surgery!
Joint Camp: Learn the ins and outs of what to expect before, during and after your surgery. You’ll receive information on topics such as which tests you’ll need to what happens during the actual surgery. You’ll even learn tips to how to prepare your home for the recovery period and what devices you might need (and how to obtain them).
CARE Clinic: Prior to your surgery, the clinic will review your medical history and provide a physical assessment to determine your medical readiness. This screening is especially beneficial for individuals with pre-existing conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, or those who have had prior negative reactions to anesthesia.
Dedicated Program Coordinator: Our coordinator provides individual attention to each patient; they are your primary resource for questions, updates on your daily progress, and overall experience.
