Carondelet Health Network has announced new Chief Executive Officer at its west and east side hospital campuses, effective last week. The new leaders have been promoted from within the organization; both with long histories of service in the Tucson community. Amy Beiter, MD
, has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital. Dr. Beiter has been a member of the St. Mary’s medical staff since 1992. In 2007, she joined St. Mary’s administration and was named the hospital’s Chief Medical Officer in 2008. Dr. Beiter has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of care at Carondelet’s west side campus. Thanks to her leadership and the efforts of the entire hospital staff and associates there, St. Mary’s has been honored with a long list of significant national quality awards over this last year, including as a Top Performer in Key Quality Measures by the Joint Commission and as a Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence by Healthgrades®. , formerly Carondelet Health Network’s Chief Information Officer and a Vice President of Ascension Health Information Systems, has assumed the role of President and CEO at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Tony has enjoyed a successful career in a variety of major leadership positions including healthcare operations, information systems, research and development and as an entrepreneur. Tony has been integral in the planning and implementation of many key strategic initiatives for Carondelet Health Network. He is a founder, trustee and Vice Chair of Arizona’s health information exchange, the Health Information Network of Arizona, and has worked extensively toward the improvement of patient experience in our hospitals and across our Ministry.

, has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for the Network. Most recently, Dr. Denmark had been the Network’s lead Chief Medical Officer. He will also continue as Chief Medical Officer at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Dr. Denmark joined Carondelet in January 2011 after more than two decades of distinguished leadership in healthcare administration, research, academics and family medicine in Oklahoma and the Bay Area. Martha Gerganoff, RN, MSN
, has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for the Network. Martha has been and will continue as Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer at St. Mary’s Hospital. Before joining Carondelet last year, Gerganoff was Chief Executive officer of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Southern Arizona in Tucson. Previously, she served as Chief Operating Officer at Tucson Medical Center and Administrator at El Dorado Hospital. Tawnya Tretschok
has joined Carondelet Health Network as Vice President, Executive Director of Physician Practices. Tretschok will be responsible for operational leadership and oversight of Carondelet Medical Group and Carondelet Specialist Group. Tretschok is a native Tucsonan who joins Carondelet from the University of Arizona Health Network. She brings more than two decades of experience in outpatient, inpatient and health plan operations. Tretschok worked at Carondelet in the late 90s as the Contract Operations and Customer Service Manager.
