James K. Beckmann has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer for Carondelet Health Network, the Tucson health ministry and its parent organization, Ascension Health, announced today. Beckmann has served as Interim President and CEO since October, and his permanent role is effective immediately.
“Jim has been a leader at Ascension Health in a variety of areas, and I am confident that he is an ideal fit for this important role at Carondelet Health Network,” said Charles Barnett, FACHE, Ascension Health’s West Ministry Market Leader.
Sister Annette Bower, CSJ, Chair of Carondelet’s Board of Directors, said “Jim Beckmann has made an immediate and positive impact on Carondelet, and he made it a priority to engage with Carondelet associates, physicians and community leaders in his assessment of the ministry’s strengths and opportunities. He will be a great asset to this organization, and we are delighted to welcome him to the Carondelet family.”
Beckmann has served in a variety of leadership positions as Ascension Health’s St. Louis headquarters during the last eight years. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President for System Support Services where his work focused on developing and implementing organizational approaches to optimize operations. Prior to joining Ascension Health, Jim had a 16-year career as an executive in the insurance industry. Beckmann succeeds Ruth W. Brinkley, who left Carondelet in October for a position with Ascension’s advocacy office in Washington D.C.
