Casita Jose and Casita Maria reflect the philosophy of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet: treat children with respect, dignity, and love. We have a strong commitment to providing quality care to children and offering a safe environment that fosters individual growth and development. Parents help us achieve these goals with their comments, suggestions, and regular involvement in our activities.
We offer a variety of programs for children ages six weeks through preschool, including special needs children. Our programs are in two categories: Infant/Toddler and Preschool. We define Infants as those children six weeks to 12 months. From 12 to 36 months, the children are in our Toddler program. Children three years through five years are enrolled in our Preschool program.
Daily interactions with the children occur through direct conversation, story reading, play, and other activities. Staff serve as facilitators in the play process, encouraging where needed and intervening when appropriate. Our classrooms are designed for active exploration in a child-safe setting. Developmental milestones such as first feedings, toileting, and walking are handled on an individual basis. We serve as partners with parents in achieving these goals. We welcome and encourage your involvement in your child's stay at Casitas Jose and Maria.
Learning centers are set up throughout our classrooms to encourage hands-on learning. Daily activities in math, science, art, music, cooking, and dramatic play are just some of the areas your child will explore. We use methods of observation and recording to chart your child's progress and accomplishments throughout the year.
The Casitas give priority enrollment to Carondelet Health Network (CHN) associates at discounted tuition rates.
Limited spaces are available to community families at Non-CHN rates, space permitting. If placed on a waiting list, CHN families will receive priority enrollment over others, regardless of the date they were added to the waiting list.
