Proceeds of 2010 Centurions Party to Benefit Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital
TUCSON, Ariz. – (April 29, 2010) – Ever wake up in the morning and wish you could go about your business while lounging around in your pajamas? Here’s your chance! The Centurions
, one of Tucson’s longest-standing philanthropic organizations, will host its annual fundraising event, The Great Pajama-Rama: A Nightie to Remember
at Tucson Electric Park on Saturday, May 15, 2010, starting at 6:00 p.m. Party goers are encouraged to come in their favorite PJs.
The annual party features food, dancing, live music and table games. There will also be raffles, door prizes, costume contests and, of course, this year’s event would not be complete without, you guessed it, bed races. Be sure to stick around for the fireworks extravaganza at 10:00 p.m.
The Centurions, comprised of 220 local business leaders, was founded in 1968 as a fundraising group to support Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital
. The group’s first fundraiser, in 1970, was a bowling tournament that netted just over $1,000. In subsequent years, millions of dollars have been raised in support of programs and services at St. Mary’s. Centurions’ funds have supported the St. Mary’s Wound Care Program, Behavioral Health Clinic, Outpatient Rehabilitation, Carondelet Hospice and Palliative Care, the building on a state-of-the art Emergency Center and many other hospital renovation projects.
The mission of Carondelet Health Network
is rooted in the legacy of Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital. Founded in 1880 and celebrating its 130th anniversary this year, St. Mary’s serves the needs of an ever-expanding west side with a Mission to Heal.
This year’s Centurion event, The Great Pajama-Rama - A Nightie to Remember
, will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Tucson Electric Park. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to: www.thecenturions.com or call the Centurions’ office at 520-873-5032.
