This Tuesday evening the Tucson community, along with a former UA basketball star turned music industry mogul, will gather to celebrate the wonderful work performed by the dedicated and skilled caregivers of Carondelet Health Network, and the tremendous ongoing support of that work by Carondelet Foundation donors.

The Carondelet Foundation Annual Dinner will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Kiva Ballroom at Loew’s Ventana Canyon Resort. A reception will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m.

The sold-out event is an opportunity for Carondelet to honor and thank members of the community who so generously support the efforts of the area’s largest faith-based, not-for-profit healthcare ministry, serving Tucson and Southern Arizona for more than 132 years.

This year’s keynote address will be provided by Grammy award-winning producer and music industry executive, Harvey Mason, Jr. of Harvey Mason Media. A former UA Wildcat, Mason has gained international fame as a songwriter and record producer. The six-time Grammy award winner has worked with many of the major stars in the music industry today including Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Elton John, Mary J. Blige and Jennifer Hudson. Mason played basketball for legendary UA coach, Lute Olson, from 1986 to 1990 and was a member of the famed 1988 Final Four team. During his address, Mason plans to share his perspective on how his time here in Tucson helped shape the success he has enjoyed in his career. He’ll be joined at the dinner by current UA Basketball Coach, Sean Miller, who has publicly supported the work of Carondelet Health Network and Carondelet Foundation since arriving in Tucson.

To learn more about Harvey Mason, Jr., go to Mr. Mason will be available for media interviews in the Kiva Ballroom Courtyard from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. the evening of the event. This year’s Carondelet Foundation event is a sellout. Lesley G. Goldfarb, Carondelet Foundation Board Member and Chair of this year’s Carondelet Foundation Dinner, is thrilled by the community response. “I am gratified by the support of Carondelet’s friends,” said Goldfarb. “This dinner is an opportunity for the members of our community to learn about our hospitals and the work of our physicians and associates throughout the health network.”

Some of Tucson’s most significant businesses and community leaders are contributing to the success of the dinner. Proceeds from the evening will be directed to the Carondelet Foundation Fund for Excellence. The fund is used to support physicians and healthcare professionals, purchase medical equipment, fund facility renovations and bring excellence to the patient experience.

Title sponsors of the event include Hall Render Killian Heath & Lyman P.C. and The Centurions, a civic organization established in Tucson over 40 years ago to support Carondelet Health Network. The reception sponsor is Mercy Care Plan. Other major sponsors include Crowe Horwath, Hunter Partners, Kaufman, Hall & Associates, Swaim Associates Ltd., Touchpoint Support Services and Tucson Electric Power. More than 60 other individuals and companies have shown their support for the Foundation by sponsoring tables at the dinner.

“It is the privilege of Carondelet Foundation to tell the story of this amazing health ministry, and help build a stronger resource for health and wellness in Southern Arizona,” said T. K. Warfield, Chairman of the Carondelet Foundation Board of Trustees. You can learn more about this year’s event by visiting
