Critical
Care/Emergency Department Program Philosophy
In concert with the organization’s mission, vision, and values,
it is the philosophy of the CCED program at Carondelet Health
Network to provide the educational development and clinical
resources and experiences to the Registered Nurse who has a
desire to become an Emergency Department or Critical Care
licensed nurse. Standards of care for the program are modeled
after the AACN curriculum.
CCED Program
The CCED is a 4-7 month program with structured classroom and
clinical preceptorship with focus on the following clinical
experiences:
- Cardiac
- Respiratory
- Neurological
- Gastrointestinal

- Endocrine
- Pain management
- Basic and Advanced EKG

- Medication management
- Conscious Sedation
- BLS/ACLS/PALS

Network Preceptorship
Registered Nurses in the CCED classes are assigned preceptors
and mentors that will guide their learning journey into Critical
Care. Carondelet Health Network is known for the tenured and
