Carondelet Opens Two New Walk-In Clinics to Fulfill Essential Need
TUCSON, Ariz. – June 2, 2010 – If you have minor injuries, nagging aches and pains, or just feel under the weather, Carondelet Health Network has made seeking medical attention
faster and easier. The Carondelet Medical Group has opened two walk-in clinics in convenient locations -- one on Tucson’s west side and one in Sahuarita. These walk-in clinics offer easy-to-access care for non-emergency illnesses or injuries
without the need for an appointment.
Three physicians: Michael Beals, DO, Richard L. Klassen, MD, and Moira Shannon, MD and a number of other healthcare providers will serve the needs of patients in both locations on a rotating basis. “Our goal is to see patients quickly, efficiently and correctly,” says Dr. Beals, who wants to be sure the walk-in clinics leave patients with a positive experience. “That has always been my vision. We can be something different, a part of the solution to the healthcare delivery system in the Tucson area,” he said. “We will make sure patients’ concerns are addressed and try to make them smile before they leave.”
Beals said a visit to a walk-in clinic is an ideal “stop gap” if you are hurt or ill, but can’t see your regular primary care doctor right away. After a clinic visit, physicians encourage patients to follow-up with their regular doctors for continued care. If the patient does not have a primary care provider, the staff can suggest a Carondelet Medical Group physician who is accepting new patients in their area.
The Carondelet Medical Group clinics are clearly focused on high quality care and prompt service. “If you’re not doing better, give us a call. We can often take care of some issues over the phone,” Beals adds. The clinics are also organized to reduce wait times for patients. If there is a wait of an hour or more, front office staff will take a patient’s phone number and call them 15 minutes before they can be seen.
