HeartSaver CTSM

Each year, more than 1.5 million Americans suffer heart attacks. Most never see it coming. One-third of them die without ever suspecting they had heart disease.

Do you have heart disease? Are you sure?

The Problem Is Atherosclerosis
Atherosclerosis leads to heart attacks. Commonly called “hardening of the arteries,” atherosclerosis actually involves the buildup of plaque — fatty materials, cholesterol, calcium, and fibrin — inside the arteries. When the plaque sufficiently blocks the flow of the artery, a heart attack can result.

Traditional detection methods — treadmill tests, thallium stress tests, echocardiograms, and cholesterol tests — do not detect the early signs of coronary atherosclerosis. Most tests may detect only a significant amount of blockage. This could mean you’d have as much as 70 percent blockage before you knew you had a problem. HeartSaver CT can help.

HeartSaver CT can alert physicians to the amount of calcium buildup that has occurred around the heart.
This buildup is a key indicator of heart disease.

A HeartSaver CT is fast, painless and saves lives. It only costs $99, but is not recommended for those who are known to have heart disease.

This service is provided by Carondelet Heart & Vascular Institute, located at 4888 N. Stone Ave., Tucson. AZ. A map is provided to all patients scheduled for an exam.
