Natural Family Planning
The Carondelet Fertility Care Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson encourages couples to share the responsibility of planning their families. Using the Creighton Model Fertility Care System, couples can choose to either achieve or avoid pregnancy naturally, without the use of pharmaceutical contraceptives.
The Creighton Model Fertility Care System is based on tracking the day-to-day changes of a woman’s cervical fluid, or vaginal discharge that comes and goes with each menstrual cycle. This fluid indicates when a woman is fertile or infertile. By learning her normal pattern, a woman can also recognize what may be abnormal for her and see her doctor for medical care.
