Tucson Heart Hospital*, the only hospital in Southern Arizona dedicated to providing heart and vascular care, was named a Top 100 Hospital by Thomson Reuters in 2007 & 2009.
A Top 100 Hospital for Cardiovascular Care
This national honor is given only to those hospitals that meet ever-more stringent quality and efficiency standards. The purpose of this data-based award is to continually improve patient care and provide value for the community the hospital serves.
In 2009, HealthGrades gave Tucson Heart Hospital* five-star awards for superior clinical performance in Heart Attack Care, Heart Failure, CAP (Community Acquired Pneumonia), Sepsis, PE (Pulmonary Embollism - blockage in artery to the lungs) inpatient mortality and Respiratory Failure in 2009. For 2010, HealthGrades awarded the hospital five stars for CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery) excellence. Only 12 percent of all CABG programs receive this rating. Tucson Heart Hospital* has received ACS Midas Platinum Quality Awards, which recognize excellence in clinical healthcare. Tucson Heart Hospital* received Midas awards for achievement in the areas of quality outcomes, care efficiency and consistent delivery of evidence-based best practices, when compared to more than 550 hospitals.
