Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital Named Best Center for ChildbirthNov 6, 2017
Tucson residents have spoken. For the second year in a row, Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital has been named Best Birthing Center in The Arizona Daily Star Readers’ Choice Awards.
“The fact that these rankings are decided by readers means a lot to us,” said Mark A. Benz, CEO of Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital. “The readers aren’t looking at statistics or statuses in the medical community – they’re voting based on their experiences with us, so we’re really proud of that.”
Each month, Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital teams help new families bring about 200 babies into the world.
“We love the role that we play in bringing new life into this world,” said Teresa Anzar, Carondelet St. Joseph’s Women and Infant Services Director. “We’re thrilled to be named the best place to have a baby, but the real honor is in being allowed to share this incredible experience with families every day.”
Knowing that St. Joseph’s top-notch neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is only steps away from the labor and delivery unit makes those experiences a little more comfortable for parents.
In addition to access to technology, like a NICU, that helps them best serve their patients, St. Joseph’s offers private rooms for their families, comprehensive childbirth and postpartum classes and natural birthing options.
Carondelet St. Joseph’s was also a finalist in the following categories:
- Best Hospital
- Best Emergency Room
- Best Women’s Center
“We’re always looking for ways to make health care better,” said Benz. “These awards inspire us to keep doing better, to keep working hard to make each patient’s experience our top priority, to keep looking for ways to advance healthcare options for our patients. We are truly humbled by and grateful for this recognition.”
