Carondelet St. Josephs Hospital Opens New Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Feb 11, 2018

Carondelet St. Josephs’ Hospital proudly unveiled the newly updated cardiac catheterization lab on January 24, 2018. In an effort to better serve the community and combat heart disease, the leading cause of death of Americans, this lab boasts advanced technology and an open concept that may allow interventional teams to provide faster and more efficient cardiac care to the patients treated by this hospital.

“We are proud to unveil our new cardiac catheterization lab that is equipped with some of the latest technology and boasts a new open concept,” said St. Joseph’s Hospital CEO Mark Benz. “Expanding access to care and providing the latest advancements is a commitment we make to this community and the patients we serve.”

With the new cardiac cath lab, Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital will conduct minimally invasive procedures to treat a wide range of clinical problems including interventional and emergency angioplasty, device implants and other procedures. This lab will also include electrophysiology technology to enable the teams to treat the electrical activities of the heart, including wireless pacemakers, a new service not ever offered at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

The new cardiac cath lab was unveiled to physicians, staff and media at a ribbon cutting ceremony on February 1, 2018.
