Holy Cross Hospital CEO receives national recognition

Knapheide named in top leader list by healthcare trade publication Becker’s Hospital Review

NOGALES (Jan. 14, 2019) – Carondelet Holy Cross Hospital Chief Executive Officer Debra Knapheide has been nationally recognized as a leader in the healthcare industry. Knapheide was included in the Becker’s Hospital Review list of “Women Hospital and Healthcare Leaders to Know” for 2018.

These leaders face the challenges of running healthcare organizations head-on. Many wear multiple hats within their health system to promote organizational growth and drive innovation.”

Knapheide is CEO, chief nursing officer and chief operating officer of Carondelet Holy Cross Hospital, where she is responsible for operations, executive planning, clinical services and medical staff direction. She had a 30-year career in nursing, working for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. During her time at Carondelet Holy Cross Hospital, the hospital earned recognition for innovative emergency medical services and received the Critical Access Hospital Recognition Certificate from the National Rural Health Resource Center.

Becker’s Hospital Review selected 143 women leaders from across the U.S. for inclusion on its list of hospital and health system leaders to know. Knapheide was selected by the publication’s editors for her management and leadership in the hospital, as well as contributions to the health of the community.
