Planning for Pregnancy

Be in Control with the Creighton Model Fertility Care System

The Carondelet Fertility Care Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson encourages you and your partner to share the responsibility of planning your family. Using the Creighton Model Fertility Care System, you can help choose to either achieve or avoid pregnancy naturally, without the use of pharmaceutical contraceptives.

Understanding the Method

The Creighton Model Fertility Care System is based on tracking the day-to-day changes of a woman’s cervical fluid, or vaginal discharge that comes and goes with each menstrual cycle. This fluid indicates when a woman is fertile or infertile. By learning your normal pattern, you can also recognize what may be abnormal for you and see your doctor for medical care.

From this hour-long session introductory session and overview of the method will be presented and couples will have enough knowledge to begin charting daily changes in the woman's cycle. Long-distance instruction is available for out-of-town clients.
