Hospital Volunteer Opportunities

Have you ever wanted to make a difference in people’s lives? By volunteering at Carondelet, you can! As a volunteer, you’ll have a profound impact on every area of our hospitals, serving as a vital resource to our patients, families, visitors and employees. Carondelet offers a variety of volunteer opportunities that accommodate all schedules, including those of working adults, students and retirees.

Our Volunteer Program

Volunteering at one of our hospitals can provide you with a rewarding experience. With guidance from volunteer staff, our volunteers work a set weekly schedule, so you’ll always know when you’re set to help. To maintain our high standards of care, we do have a few volunteer requirements that you must adhere to:

  • Be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Agree to volunteer for a minimum of 100 hours in a one-year period
  • Complete our volunteer application
  • Provide two letters of reference
  • Interview with our volunteer supervisor and or delegate
  • Clear a criminal background check
  • Have completed a COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days prior to volunteering
  • Provide proof of immunity to measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) and chickenpox
  • Be willing to receive a tuberculosis (TB) screening
  • Be willing to receive an annual flu vaccination
  • Complete an orientation and any additional training your placement may require
  • Obtain picture identification badge
  • Adhere to all Carondelet annual policies, procedures, and refresher course(s)

Are you under 18 and want to volunteer? Carondelet offers a Junior Volunteer Program, as well. To volunteer with us, you’ll need to:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Complete our application with consent from a parent or guardian
  • Commit to 100 hours of service in a one-year period
  • Provide two written personal or professional references
  • Have completed a COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days prior to volunteering
  • Provide proof of immunity to measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) and chickenpox
  • Be willing to receive a tuberculosis (TB) screening
  • Be willing to receive an annual flu vaccination
  • Complete an orientation and any additional training your placement may require
  • Obtain picture Identification badge
  • Adhere to all Carondelet annual policies, procedures, and refresher course(s).
