What to Expect
Your first neuro or stroke rehabilitation appointment will begin with a thorough evaluation of your condition, questions about your medical history, symptoms and nature of your injury (if applicable), so we can create the best possible plan for you. The
activities you’ll perform in each session are meant to help improve your balance, range of motion, mobility, coordination, memory and endurance.
Carondelet uses three unique approaches to treatment that you may encounter:
LiteGait: One system we may use is LiteGait, a suspension system that allows your therapist to safely move you from a seated position to a proper upright posture, allowing change in posture, balance, specific muscular strength and overall gait
Computer-assisted therapy: This treatment is used at St. Mary’s to help treat deficits in communication and cognition.
Pool therapy: This treatment helps promote recovery and physical well-being through movement in the water. Aquatic therapy can provide many benefits.
